Justin Lane residences

The Justin Lane Residences consist of 3 speculative homes on two adjacent lots in Austin’s Crestview neighborhood. The Client’s design brief called for a modern, but warm and inviting aesthetic, coupled with strategic considerations for maximizing the “first impression” impact these houses would have for potential buyers.

The Client also desired that the houses be ‘related but not identical’: developed from a similar kit of parts, finishes, and formal gestures, but still distinct and unique. Each home’s concept began with a hard, smooth opaque shell of stucco or siding, that was then carved away to reveal warmer, lighter finishes and transparency.
