Hamilton Creek House

When our clients approached us to design a new home, they had already built a deep bond with their land- spending many nights camping under the stars, enjoying its serene setting and spring-fed swimming hole. Their vision was clear: a multi-generational family retreat worthy of its cherished setting.

The design process began on foot, hiking the property, sketching at a picnic table, and taking the time to understand the land and how the house should interact with it: energy-efficient, durable, fire-proof, out of the floodplain, with a "light footprint" on the land, and above all, a place for joy and adventure.
